Learn more at www.axiawh.com.\nThe Controller serves as the senior accounting leader for Axia Women's Health and is responsible for the integrity of the organization's financial reporting, accounting operations, treasury activities, and internal control environment. Reporting to the CFO, this role partners closely with Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Operations, and executive leadership to ensure accurate reporting, scalable processes, and strong financial governance across a rapidly growing, private equity-backed healthcare organization.\nThe Controller will lead a high-performing accounting team while serving as a strategic business partner across the organization. This individual will bring deep technical accounting expertise, healthcare industry experience, and a proven ability to support growth, drive process improvements, and deliver meaningful financial insights in a complex, multi-site environment.\nEssential Functions:\n Accounting Leadership & Financial ReportingLead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, cash management, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.\nOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.\nManage multi-entity consolidations, intercompany transactions, and accounting related to Management Services Agreements (MSAs).\nPrepare and present financial results, key performance indicators, and variance analyses to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.\nPartner with FP&A and business leaders to support forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and financial decision-making.\n\nHealthcare Accounting & Revenue Cycle PartnershipOversee revenue recognition processes and related controls to ensure accurate reporting of healthcare revenue.\nPartner closely with Revenue Cycle Management and operational leadership to validate financial results and support performance improvement initiatives.\nEnsure appropriate accounting treatment for physician practice, MSO, and other healthcare-related transactions.\nCollaborate across Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Revenue Cycle teams to drive consistency and accuracy in financial processes\n\nAudit Compliance and Risk ManagementLead annual external audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with auditors and external advisors.\nMaintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable accounting regulations and standards.\nDevelop, enhance, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance processes.\nSupport organizational readiness for acquisitions, financing transactions, audits, and other strategic initiatives.\n\nTreasury, Systems & Process ImprovementOversee treasury operations and manage relationships with banking partners, lenders, auditors, tax advisors, payroll providers, and financial service vendors.\nDrive continuous improvement of accounting processes, reporting capabilities, systems, and controls.\nLead automation, system integration, and reporting initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and visibility across the organization.\nIdentify and implement best practices that enhance operational effectiveness and support continued growth\n\nCorporate Governance & Entity ManagementOversee entity management activities, including registrations, annual reports, franchise tax filings, business licenses, and other corporate compliance requirements.\nPartner with Legal and external service providers to maintain corporate records and ensure all entities remain in good standing across multiple states.\n\nLeadership & Strategic PartnershipLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization, including four direct manager reports and their teams.\nServe as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, physician groups, and executive leadership.\nCollaborate with the CFO and Finance leadership team to support key organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.\nProvide accounting leadership for acquisitions, integrations, growth initiatives, and business transformation efforts.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nDirectly manages four Accounting Managers, including oversight of payroll and accounts payable functions.\nProvides leadership, coaching, and development for a high-performing accounting organization.\nSkills:\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations.\n\nProven experience leading month-end close, annual audits, and multi-entity consolidations.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead change, improve processes, and scale accounting infrastructure to support growth.\n\nExcellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.\n\nExperience partnering with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.\n\nProficiency with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, process automation, and dashboard development.\n\nWorking knowledge of multi-state entity management, business filings and registrations, and coordination with registered agents and financial vendors.\n\nProven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.\n\nExperience and Education\nRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of accounting teams.\nPrior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable accounting leadership role.\nHealthcare, physician practice management, MSO, or other multi-site healthcare experience.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, multi-entity consolidations, and internal controls.\nExperience leading month-end close, financial reporting, and external audit processes.\nExperience operating within a high-growth and/or private equity-backed organization.\nProven leadership, team development, and cross-functional business partnership skills.\nExperience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools\n\nPreferred\nCPA designation.\nRevenue cycle management and healthcare revenue recognition experience.\nCombination of public accounting and private industry experience.\nBig Four public accounting background.\nExperience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or rapidly growing organizations.\nExperience with systems such as Great Plains,
