Transfer calls to appropriate staff as necessary. \nAssists ill or distraught patients as necessary. Telephones transportation team or family members when necessary for transportation. \nMaintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition. \nAssists patients with insurance papers and billing questions. \nOpens and sorts office mail. Delivers outgoing mail to the post office at end of day. \nParticipates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed. \nComplete various clerical and reporting duties as necessary. \nTake temperature of all incoming staff and visitors and record in a log. \nAssist with patient intake process as needed, include property inventory, patient orientation, and EMR onboarding. \nOther duties as assigned by management. \nRequirements\nPersonality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill or distraught patients. \nBasic office skills such as typing and filing. \nType at least 30 words per minute. \nGood organizational skills. \nEducation and Experience:\nGraduate of a certified medical office training course preferred. \nHigh school graduate or equivalent required. \nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. \nMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. \nDisclaimer \nThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
