Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Project Engineer who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nSince Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Project Engineer IV with deep knowledge in life support and/or pressure systems and a background directing complex technical projects from conception to completion. In this role they will be responsible for supporting the design and development of the Environmental Control and Life Support Systems of the first commercial space station. This role is onsite, based at our Spaceport Facility and reports to the Manager, Mechanical Project Engineering.\nKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nOwn project engineering for a large or technically complex scope of work, or concurrently across two related scopes\nDevelop and maintain requirements consistency across concurrent assigned scopes of work\nCreate and maintain schedules across concurrent assigned scopes of work\nIdentify and manage risk across concurrent assigned scopes of work\nAssign and coordinate work scope across concurrent assigned scopes of work\nLead resolution of cross-cutting technical issues spanning multiple team members' work within assigned scope\nRepresent assigned scope's technical status directly to program and functional leadership with minimal oversight\nMentor and provide technical guidance to Level I-III engineers staffed within the same program\nContribute engineering assessment to proposal or new-business technical inputs when requested\nServe as CAM equivalent across concurrent assigned scopes, owning cost, schedule, and earned-value reporting for each, when applicable\nManage procurement requests within the approved budget across concurrent assigned scopes\nRecommend supplier technical acceptance criteria, partnering with Supply Chain on sourcing decisions\nMonitor subcontractor technical performance for complex subsystems within assigned scope, tracking delivery and quality trends and verifying deliverables against contractual technical requirements\nRegulatory Compliance: Ensure products meet rigorous NASA standards, FAA regulations, and quality safety requirements\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 8- 11 years’ experience leading Engineering projects\nTechnical understanding of design, development, and production of Environmental Control and Life Support Systems\nSpaceflight hardware design background preferred\nExperience working with NASA requirements and contractual agreements and spaceflight hardware development and certification preferred\nExperience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.)\nExperience with SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software or similar computer aided design tool preferred\nExperience with PDM software such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) or similar preferred\nExperience with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)\nExperience with Atlassian suite preferred\nTrack record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments\nUses good judgement to solve problems proactively, positively impacting hard challenges\nDemonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results\nCore Skills\nPassion for space and the mission\nEntrepreneurial, growth mindset\nHigh EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally\nTech-solutioning in using systems and tools to move smarter and faster\nCore Competencies:\nEmbody our core values of leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
