Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Project Engineer who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nSince Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Project Engineer with knowledge Mechanical engineering and a background directing complex technical projects from conception to completion. In this role they will be responsible for supporting the design and development of Crew systems products for the first commercial Station. This role is onsite, based at our Spaceport Facility and reports to the Manager, Project Engineering.\nKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nOwn a single large or highly complex project, providing subject-matter expertise in project engineering practice within that project\nProvide subject-matter expertise on requirements development and traceability practice within the project\nOwn the schedule for a single large or highly complex project\nOwn the risk picture for a single large or highly complex project\nAssign and coordinate work scope across a single large or highly complex project\nResolve technical disputes escalated from lower level project teams that cannot be closed within a single project team\nRepresent a single large or highly complex project's technical status to program and functional leadership\nProvide technical mentorship and development guidance across the full Project Engineer ladder, including Level IV engineers\nLead engineering assessment for proposal or new-business efforts within the program\nPilot new technical standards and process changes on behalf of the Director prior to Group-wide rollout\nRepresent the Group in cross-program or company-wide technical review boards and forums\nRegulatory Compliance: Ensure products meet rigorous NASA standards, FAA regulations, and quality safety requirements.\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering or related field and 11- 15 years’ experience leading Engineering projects\nSpaceflight hardware design background preferred\nExperience working with NASA requirements and contractual agreements and spaceflight hardware development and certification preferred\nExperience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.).\nExperience with SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software or similar computer aided design tool preferred\nExperience with PDM software such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) or similar preferred\nExperience with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)\nExperience with Atlassian suite preferred\nTrack record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments\nUses good judgement to solve problems proactively, positively impacting hard challenges\nDemonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results\nCore Skills\nPassion for space and the mission\nEntrepreneurial, growth mindset\nHigh EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally\nTech-solutioning in using systems and tools to move smarter and faster\nCore Competencies:\nEmbody our core values of leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
