We are looking for a passionate, high-energy Software Engineering Intern who is eager to learn from and be mentored by experienced software engineers.\nThis role supports the design, development, and testing of software across Axiom's spaceflight hardware and ground systems programs. Assignments may include flight or embedded software, ground software tools, or simulation and modeling software, depending on program need. The role requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, along with a genuine curiosity for how software is built, tested, and deployed in a mission-critical environment. This is a temporary, project-based internship supporting an active software engineering team.\nThe internship will be onsite at Axiom Space in Houston, Texas from June 1 to August 20. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodations.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nSupport the design, development, and testing of software for an assigned project, under the mentorship of experienced software engineers\nWrite and unit-test code for small, well-defined tasks\nDebug issues under guidance from senior engineers\nParticipate in code reviews to learn best practices and coding standards\nSupport test automation and CI/CD pipeline activities\nDocument code and contribute to technical documentation\nDepending on assignment, may support embedded/flight software development, ground software tools, or simulation/modeling software\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support project objectives\nCommunicate project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership\nImplementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle\nPerform additional job duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
