The Producer/Senior Producer will partner with editorial, video, social, audience, revenue, and external production partners to turn strong ideas into compelling, visually engaging video. This person will be equally comfortable developing a treatment, directing a shoot, editing a finished piece, managing production timelines, and working with on-camera talent.\nGo deeper: In this role, you’ll:\nProduce video from ideation through scripting, shooting, post-production, publishing, and promotion.\nShape ideas into pitches, treatments, scripts, shot lists, run-of-show documents, and other production materials.\nPartner with editorial and video leaders to develop creative concepts and deliver engaging, accurate video aligned with Axios’ voice and standards.\nLead or support field, studio, and remote-based productions.\nWork effectively with journalists, executives, guests, and other on-camera talent.\nCoordinate work across internal teams, freelancers, contractors, vendors, and production partners.\nCreate video optimized for YouTube and other digital platforms, including packaging, audience retention, and distribution.\nUse platform trends and performance insights to inform creative decisions and help grow Axios’ video audience.\nManage multiple projects, deadlines, production schedules, and review processes in a fast-moving environment.\nThe details: You have:\n5-7+ years of relevant video production, journalism, digital media, broadcast, documentary, branded-content, or comparable editorial experience; additional experience may be considered at the Senior Producer level.\nDemonstrated experience producing, shooting, and editing professional video content, supported by a strong portfolio or reel.\nStrong editorial judgment, visual storytelling skills, and the ability to turn ideas into compelling finished video.\nExperience producing for YouTube and an understanding of audience development, search/discovery, retention, and platform-native storytelling.\nExpert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.\nExperience working with on-camera talent, alongside strong writing, communication, and project-management skills.\nA collaborative, entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented approach and comfort working across distributed teams and changing priorities.\nStarting salary for this role is in the range of $90,000 - $140,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country.
