The Head of Insights & Analytics - Claims will lead the delivery of insights, analytics and AI solutions that support Claims teams in making better, faster and more informed decisions.\nThis role is accountable for translating Claims priorities into impactful data products, analytics solutions and AI-enabled capabilities that improve claims outcomes, operational efficiency, customer service, leakage management, reserving effectiveness and operational performance.\nAs the senior Insights & Analytics leader aligned to the Claims organisation, you will act as a strategic partner to Claims leadership, ensuring that data and AI investments are focused on measurable business value. You will work closely with the Claims, Reserving, Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting and Transformation teams to develop a coherent view of claims performance, emerging trends and opportunities for improvement across the claims lifecycle.\nThe role combines business partnership, people leadership and delivery accountability, ensuring that AXIS continues to evolve its use of analytics and AI to drive better claims outcomes and operational excellence.\nWhat will you do in this role?\nStrategic Partnership with Claims Leadership\nAct as the primary Data & Analytics partner for Claims leadership\nDevelop a deep understanding of Claims priorities, challenges, operating models and strategic objectives.\nTranslate business needs into a prioritised portfolio of insights, analytics and AI initiatives.\nLead Delivery of Claims Insights & Analytics\nOwn the delivery of Claims-focused reporting, dashboards, analytics solutions and AI-enabled capabilities.\nDrive the evolution of Claims MI from operational reporting towards predictive and prescriptive insights.\nChampion self-service analytics and scalable data products that enable Claims teams to access trusted information when needed.\nPartner Closely with Reserving\nWork closely with the Insights & Analytics Lead - Reserving and Reserving leadership to ensure alignment between Claims and Reserving analytics priorities.\nSupport a consistent view of claims performance, loss development, claims trends and portfolio movements across Claims and Reserving. Lead AI and Automation Opportunities\nIdentify opportunities to leverage AI, advanced analytics, automation and innovative technologies across the Claims function.\nWork with Analytics, AI Delivery and Insights Delivery teams to ensure solutions can be implemented effectively and sustainably.\nPromote responsible, controlled and value-focused adoption of AI capabilities within Claims.\nDeliver Business Value\nEnsure analytics and AI initiatives are clearly linked to business outcomes.\nDefine measures of success and track the value delivered by solutions.\nPromote a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making.\nStakeholder Engagement and Influence\nBuild trusted relationships with senior Claims leaders and business stakeholders.\nAct as a bridge between business priorities and technical delivery teams.\nCommunicate complex analytical concepts in a way that is understandable and actionable for non-technical audiences.\nLeadership and Team Development\nLead and develop a team of Insights & Analytics professionals aligned to the Claims value stream.\nEncourage reuse of common solutions, patterns and best practices across the wider Insights & Analytics function.\nGovernance and Standards\nEnsure solutions are delivered in line with AXIS data governance, AI governance and information management standards\nPartner with Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Operations and Platform teams to ensure Claims solutions are built on trusted data foundations.\nExperience\nExperience leading analytics, business intelligence, data or AI teams.\nA minimum of 10 years’ experience in analytics, business intelligence, data or AI, including at least 3 years leading teams.\nExperience partnering with Claims, Insurance Operations, Actuarial or Reserving functions within the insurance industry.\nA minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, partnering with Claims, Insurance Operations, Actuarial or Reserving functions.\nDemonstrated ability to translate business strategy into practical analytics and AI solutions.\nExperience delivering measurable business outcomes through the use of analytics, data products or AI capabilities.\nExperience directly managing a team of at least 6 people, including team leads or senior individual contributors.\nKnowledge & Skills\nStrong understanding of insurance claims processes, operational performance measures and claims data.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAbility to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.\nKnowledge of modern analytics, business intelligence and AI technologies.\nAbility to operate effectively within a complex, matrix organisation.\nLeadership Characteristics\nBusiness-focused and outcome-oriented.\nCollaborative and relationship-driven.\nAble to simplify complexity and provide clear direction.\nComfortable leading change and challenging the status quo.\nWhat we prefer you to have:\nAt least 3 years’ experience in claims analytics within specialty insurance or reinsurance.\nExperience deploying AI or machine learning solutions into production within claims or insurance operations.\nEducation: An advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or similar) is highly desirable, or equivalent professional experience.\nSuccess in this role will be measured by:\nBusiness Impact of Insights: Demonstrable improvements in claims outcomes, operational performance, claims handling efficiency and decision-making driven by insights, analytics and AI solutions.\nStakeholder Trust & Adoption: Strong engagement and satisfaction from Claims leadership and business stakeholders, with analytics products routinely used to support business decisions.\nDelivery of Strategic Priorities: Successful delivery of agreed Claims analytics and AI priorities, with clear linkage to business value and strategic objectives.\nInnovation with Control: Increased use of AI, automation and modern analytics approaches within Claims\nFor this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $175,000 to $200,000 (NY), Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.\nIn addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
