Then you might be the one we are looking for to join us at Technologies, one of the departments within Axis R&D, with responsibility for developing Axis product platforms that are the base for all Axis Video Surveillance Products.\nWho is your future team?\nYou will join “Common Core Platform”, a team made up of three functional teams - FT DRAM, FT Platform Security and FT Kernel - that together own the foundation of the Axis Product Platform: boot, firmware and cyber security, the Linux kernel and drivers, and the memory sub-system. We value both personal development and close collaboration, and the teams work side by side when the very first chip samples arrive at Axis and need to be brought up.\nThe DRAM team is our newest functional team and Axis' centre of expertise for memory sub-systems. The team owns the initialization, tuning and validation of DRAM across our platforms - from configuration and characterization of memory controllers and memory interfaces on new hardware designs, to stability testing and debugging of memory-related issues in products already in the field. The team works closely with the Kernel and Platform Security teams during bring-up of new SoCs and hardware reference platforms, and interacts with ASIC designers, hardware engineers and external memory vendors. Today the team consists of two engineers, and you will be the third person to join - which means you will have a real say in how the team shapes its way of working going forward.\nWhat will you do as an Embedded Software Engineer?\nThe position is hands-on and placed in our DRAM team, where you will be involved in e.g. the following activities:\nExperimenting and developing new functionality to enhance our platform portfolio\nOptimizing our embedded system performance\nComplex bug hunting\nEvaluation of memory sub-systems and hardware platforms (e.g. from a performance and stability perspective)\nSpecification and validation of Axis ASICs and HW reference platforms\nInteracting with internal and external teams (e.g. customers, partners or suppliers)\nDevelopment of memory initialization code, boot loaders and related Linux kernel support\nDRAM qualification work\nWho are you?\nYou are an analytic and dedicated person with a strong personal drive, an eye for details, and an ability to work both unsupervised and as a part of a team. You enjoy working hands-on with writing code and debugging IoT devices. You possess foresight and can develop solutions that are resilient to future challenges.\nWhat we expect from all candidates:\nMaster’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or similar\nExperience from embedded C development close to hardware\nKnowledge of Git, Gerrit, and Jenkins\nSince the position is in our DRAM team, prior experience of, and interest in, working with initializing, tuning and validating memory sub-systems (memory controllers, memory bus, DRAM) is a strong merit.\nExperience with boot processes or Linux kernel development is also a merit.\nExamples of relevant skills within these domains:\nExperience in programming for embedded Linux\nSkills in Linux kernel and device driver frameworks\nUpstream Linux kernel work\nLinux device driver development\nBoot and boot loaders\nTuning, validation and debugging of memory sub-systems\nThe position is office-based and you will be located in Axis HQ in Lund, Sweden.\nWhat Axis has to offer\nOpenness might be a buzz word in other companies, but at Axis this is the core of who we are.
