Join the Fixed Dome Firmware team at Axis HQ in Lund, Sweden, and help develop the software behind our network cameras.\nYou’ll work on product development with colleagues in firmware and other disciplines, including image quality, electronics, mechanical design and production test. Your work will include adapting AXIS OS, Axis’ Linux-based operating system, and developing and investigating software across a large embedded codebase.\nYour future team\nYou’ll join a dedicated team of firmware engineers who share responsibility for delivering product projects and improving how we work.\nCollaboration is an important part of the role. You’ll have regular discussions within the team and work with other teams and stakeholders across Axis. We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, listens to different perspectives, enjoys solving problems together and at the same time owns and drives their own work.\nWhat you’ll work on\nDevelop and maintain firmware for network-connected fixed dome cameras.\nAdapt AXIS OS for new products.\nAnalyse, design and implement software features for upcoming products.\nInvestigate issues across the embedded system, which may include user-space software, kernel components and device drivers.\nHelp assess and improve embedded system performance.\nWork with colleagues across firmware and other product-development disciplines.\nShare knowledge and contribute to how the team plans and delivers its work.\nWho you are\nYou’re a curious and collaborative engineer who enjoys tackling technical challenges and learning new things. You’re comfortable working in a changing environment, take responsibility for your work and communicate well with people from different disciplines.\nYou value openness, trust and teamwork, and you’re happy to contribute to an agile way of working.\nWe’d love to hear that you have\nRelevant experience in firmware or embedded software development, with a strong foundation in Linux-based systems, preferably +5 years\nSolid knowledge of Linux system programming, including user space, kernel space and device drivers.\nExperience programming in C and/or C++.\nFamiliarity with continuous integration, Git and build tools.\nExperience working with agile methodologies.\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or a related field - or equivalent experience.\nFamiliarity with AI-powered development tools.\nIt’s a plus if you also have\nExperience with debugging tools such as GDB and Valgrind.\nScripting experience with shell, Python or Perl.\nExperience with low-level programming, for example for microcontrollers.\nExperience leading or facilitating agile teams.\nWhat Axis have to offer\nWe are a world leader in network video, where cutting-edge technology meets global impact.
