As our Lead Firmware Engineer in Lund, you will help shape how our firmware team works, strengthen our agile ways of working and advance how we use AI, all while developing the firmware behind Axis thermal and explosion-protected cameras.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a Lead Firmware Engineer to drive the technical direction of our firmware team, strengthen our ways of working through agile methodologies, and build close collaboration with other Axis development teams. Advancing how we work with AI is also a key part of the role.\nThis is a technical leadership role without direct reports, where you work closely with the Engineering Manager and the team's system architect, with the ambition of growing into a system architect role. You will set direction and shape how the team works, while remaining close to the engineering itself.\nYour future team\nYou will join a team of 18 firmware developers working across several product areas, including thermal cameras and explosion-protected cameras. The team develops in C in a Linux environment, and our products run embedded Linux.\nIn this role you will, for example:\nExplore and understand use cases, and translate them into clear, well-structured requirements for the team\nDrive and lead our AI development in a structured and systematic way\nAct as a technical discussion partner and sounding board to product managers and other managers, balancing competing technical requirements\nStrengthen our design-first approach by visualizing and presenting the intended code architecture, including taking a proactive approach to system resource requirements such as processing power and memory demands\nBuild and maintain testing capabilities within the team, ensuring efficient test frameworks and suites are available for continuous use\nCoordinate firmware-related work across the firmware teams in the department and with other parts of the R&D organization, and plan deliveries so they align well with AXIS OS releases\nCompile and present the features delivered by the team to stakeholders outside the team\nWho we are looking for\nYou enjoy leading through collaboration and bring the team with you, getting the dialogue started and motivating and energizing those around you. You are self-directed and proactive, you set your own direction, and you value a close dialogue with your manager. You have an eye for identifying and driving improvements in ways of working and team structures, and you help the team embrace change. You balance a business mindset with a technical one. You like to network internally, using your network to bring in best practices and to represent your team's perspective across the organization. Working cross-functionally comes naturally to you.\nRequirements:\nExperience as a firmware engineer\nSolid experience in architecture design\nExperience from technical leadership roles, with or without direct reports\nProfessional proficiency in both Swedish and English\nBonus points for:\nExperience developing in C in a Linux environment, ideally with embedded Linux\nFamiliarity with Axis products and systems\nExperience working with AI development, or with making productivity and quality improvements using agile methods and AI\nExperience facilitating agile ceremonies, such as backlog refinement, prioritization, demos and retrospectives\nNo travel is planned for this role, but we ask that you are open to limited traveling should the role require it.\nWhat Axis offers\nWe are a world leader in network video, where cutting-edge technology meets global impact.
