Our engineering team already works at the leading edge of AI-assisted development, and we intend to stay there. We are hiring a Head of Engineering to turn a clear vision for how Engineers work with AI into the way the whole team works, every day.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead our engineers and QA, set the standard for how we build with AI agents, and keep coding yourself to uncover what's possible and show the team how it's done. You will form a leadership triad with our Chief Technology Officer and our Product Lead, deciding what we build next and what needs rethinking. We want someone with the experience and authority to tell us when we are wrong, and to back it up.\nWhat you'll own\nThe engineering team, including QA: all engineering reporting lines, team structure, hiring and performance\n\nHow we build with AI: the workflows, from agent-driven development to stacked pull requests, and the guardrails that keep output secure and reliable\n\nQuality upstream: making sure the team spends its time teaching the machine to execute well, not just executing\n\nArchitecture: facilitating the big technical discussions and making the calls on how our workflow-based platform evolves\n\nHands-on code: prototyping and shipping to uncover new opportunities and better ways of working\n\nEngineering strategy alongside the CTO and product lead, and our relationships with technology partners such as Google and AWS\n\nWhat success looks like in your first 6 months\nThe full engineering team, including QA, reports into you, and day-to-day engineering execution runs through you\n\nA defined AI engineering workflow is live across the team, with clear guardrails and usage and quality metrics reviewed monthly\n\nAt least one change to team structure or engineering practice led end to end, with a measurable improvement in delivery speed or quality\n\nWhat we're looking for:\nSkills\nPeople leadership: at least 4 years as an engineering manager\n\nAI in your own workflow: you build with AI tools and agents day to day and can explain exactly how you make sure the output is right\n\nLeading change: you have reshaped an engineering org or introduced new engineering practices yourself, and can show how it played out\n\nExperience\nEngineering leadership in a marketplace or SaaS platform business\n\nBuilding workflow-based platforms with complex state management, such as approval flows or order lifecycles\n\nFamiliarity with business process modelling, such as BPMN\n\nChanging how an existing team works, not only building a new team from scratch\n\nTraits\nConfident enough to challenge senior leaders, with the experience to back it up\n\nHands-on: you show rather than tell\n\nDrives change and stays steady when not everyone welcomes it\n\nWhat is in it for you?\nAt Axmed, we believe in creating a supportive and rewarding environment where our team can thrive.
