This role plays a key part in delivery performance, capacity utilisation, and process optimisation through efficient scheduling, material availability checks, and close coordination with the Production Manager.\nLocation: Kassel, Hesse\nReports to: General Manager of Kassel Operations\nWhat You’ll Do\nCreate and maintain production orders based on demand and capacity data.\nCheck material availability in the system before order release.\nBook and track production orders in the ERP system.\nAnalyse and address discrepancies between system and physical stock.\nSupport operational purchasing based on predefined materials and suppliers.\nCoordinate closely with the Production Manager to align capacity and optimise resource planning.\nIdentify and support resolution of material shortages.\nEvaluate and report lead times, order statuses, and production KPIs (e.g. delay causes).\nKey Responsibilities\nProduction Planning: Manage and maintain production schedules aligned with demand and available capacity.\nOrder Execution: Create, release, and track production orders in the ERP system.\nMaterial Coordination: Ensure material availability and resolve stock discrepancies in coordination with warehouse and purchasing.\nCross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with the Production Manager to optimise planning and capacity utilisation.\nReporting & Analysis: Monitor production KPIs, delays, and lead times to support performance improvement.\nWhat You Bring\nCompleted vocational training or degree in business/logistics.\nExperience in production planning or control.\nProficient in ERP systems (system-agnostic) and MS Excel.\nStructured, self-directed, and systematic working style.\nRobust analytical skills with attention to detail but not over-focusing.\nSolution-oriented and factual communication style.\nFluent in German and English (spoken and written).\nCollaboration with the Production Manager\nThe Production Planner handles system-side planning and control - the Production Manager is in charge of execution on the shop floor.\nDaily coordination and capacity alignment to ensure implementation and adaptability in production.\nClear role separation ensures efficiency and avoids overlaps.\nWork Location: This role is based out of our Kassel office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
