Independently designs and executes tests for standard work items under the direction of the Data QA Lead.Job Description\nPerform quality assurance and quality control duties for the Enterprise Data Management and data development life cycle\nParticipate in backlog refinement; review requirements and technical specifications and draft acceptance criteria and test cases before development starts\nDefine, prepare and execute data validation, unit, integration, regression and source to target testing across SSIS, dbt, Fivetran, Python ingestion and Databricks pipelines\nValidate technical specifications against finished data products and support post-production data audits\nExecute the practice quality gate checks (accuracy, latency, performance, security) for assigned work items and report results\nDocument defects in Azure DevOps with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence; retest fixes\nMaintain and execute assigned automated regression checks; contribute new automated checks with guidance\nWork with business analysts and developers to clarify scope and expected results\nLeverage AI/LLM-powered tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate test case generation, synthetic data and query review, validating AI-assisted output before use\nUtilize Agile methodologies; participate in daily scrums, testing, code reviews, build release and other recurring meetings\nRequired Key Knowledge Skills/ Experience\n2+ years in QA testing, preferably in a data engineering or data warehousing environment\nSolid SQL for data validation and reconciliation; basic Python scripting\nExperience testing ETL/ELT loads or data warehouse changes\nExperience with defect and test management tooling (Azure DevOps or equivalent)\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nSuperior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure and on tight deadlines\nDemonstrated ability to learn and utilize new technologies, disciplines and frameworks as needed\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies\nPreferred Experience\nHands-on experience with Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows/Jobs) or other Big Data/Spark platforms\nExposure to data test automation frameworks (e.g., pytest, dbt tests)\nExposure to Tableau or other BI reporting layers\nBanking or financial services industry experience\nEducation requirements\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field\nAbout Axos\nBorn digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
