This role will play a critical part in protecting cloud infrastructure, applications, and data while enabling scalable and secure business operations across multi-cloud and AI-driven environments.Key Responsibilities\nDesign and implement security controls for cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards\nAssess cloud environments for vulnerabilities, risks, and misconfigurations; recommend and implement remediation strategies\nDevelop and enforce cloud security architecture, policies, standards, and guidance\nCollaborate with engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)\nMonitor cloud systems for threats using SIEM, CSPM, and cloud-native security tools\nLead incident response efforts related to cloud security events and support forensic investigations\nAutomate security processes (e.g., infrastructure as code, security testing, compliance checks)\nStay up to date with emerging threats, cloud technologies, and evolving security best practices\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience)\n5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with strong focus on cloud security\nHands-on experience securing at least one major cloud platform (Azure, GCP, or AWS); multi-cloud experience preferred\nStrong understanding of cloud architecture, identity and access management (IAM), networking, and encryption\nExperience with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks)\nProficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar) and automation tools\nFamiliarity with container and Kubernetes security is a plus\nRelevant certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer)\nPreferred Experience\nExperience securing AI/ML workloads, data platforms, or modern application architectures\nKnowledge of Zero Trust principles and cloud-native security solutions\nExperience with threat modeling and secure software design\nWhat Success Looks Like\nSecure, compliant, and resilient cloud environments\nReduced security risks through proactive controls and automation\nStrong collaboration with engineering teams to embed security into development processes\nAbout Axos\nBorn digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
