This is a hands-on, technical role responsible for designing and executing real-world evidence (RWE) analyses using large-scale healthcare datasets, including administrative claims, electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and other real-world data sources. This role combines advanced statistical programming, study design, and analytical expertise to generate rigorous evidence supporting evidence generation priorities. \nThe individual will lead the development of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study reports in partnership with the HEOR Lead & Medical Strategy colleagues, oversee programming and execution of analyses inclusive of quality control procedures, and deliver high-quality evidence to inform value demonstration, payer engagement, and scientific publications. \nThis role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles. \nJob Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: \nLead development of analytical strategies supporting HEOR, Medical Affairs, and market access evidence generation \nDesign appropriate methodologies including traditional statistical approaches and advanced analytics (e.g., survival analysis, comparative effectiveness, treatment patterns, healthcare resource utilization, machine learning where appropriate) \nApply epidemiologic and statistical methodologies to address bias, confounding, and missing data in real-world datasets \nContribute to protocol development, database specifications, and statistical analysis plans \nEnsure methodological rigor, reproducibility, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards \nPerform and oversee statistical programming and analysis using SAS, R, Python, and SQL \nDevelop and validate analysis-ready datasets and analytic workflows from raw healthcare data sources \nLead cohort identification using clinical coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, NDC) \nSupport data acquisition strategy by identifying appropriate claims, EHR, and other real-world data sources \nPartner with IT and Commercial Operations on real world database ingestion into Axsome data ecosystem \nTranslate analytical results into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders via graphics, slides, and dashboards as appropriate \nContribute to development of, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts \nSupport development of payer evidence and value dossiers \nPresent findings to internal and external stakeholders including scientific meetings \nPartner with HEOR strategy leads and Medical Affairs teams, as well as Commercial and Market Access analytics as appropriate \nTranslate business needs into analytical solutions \nManage and oversee external vendors and CROs conducting HEOR/RWE analyses \nServe as a technical leader in HEOR analytics and promote best practices \nStay current with evolving RWE methodologies and analytics tools \nContribute to continuous improvement of HEOR analytics processes and standards \nRequirements / Qualifications \nPhD or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Data Science, or related quantitative field \n5+ years of experience conducting analyses using real-world healthcare data (claims, EHR/EMR, registries) \nAbility to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles \nExperience and Knowledge \nExperience designing and executing observational and retrospective studies \nTrack record of generating real-world evidence to support publications or market access \nStrong programming skills in SAS, R, Python, and/or SQL \nExpertise in statistical methods (e.g., regression, survival analysis, causal inference) \nHands-on experience with large healthcare databases and data structures \nExperience with cohort construction and data transformation \n Salary & Benefits \nThe anticipated salary range for this role is $175,000 - $195,000. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
