You will gain exposure as well as hands on knowledge of Ayla’s end to end IoT platform, embedded and Linux domains and understand the complete enterprise flow with the cloud platform and mobile applications. You work well with other engineers, are an independent worker, but are not afraid to ask for help and direction.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nBridge gaps between complex business problems and solutions\nArchitect, design, build and maintain embedded systems software\nIdentify fit-for-purpose technologies, architect, design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable embedded solutions that help unlock business value. \nProvide technical leadership, requirement gathering and specification formation to our partners and internal teams\nLead entire Software Development Life Cycle and solution documentation.\nMentor other engineers within the team as well as partner with engineers across the supply chain to share successful architectural patterns, accounting for any roadblocks and complexities.\nAutomate infrastructure and build pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment\nCreate and update technical blueprints, architecture, design documents, etc. Document challenges, solutions approach, benefits, costs and risk.\nDesign and maintain proper coding standards and ensured quality delivery. Prepare and implement multiple code review process within team before code check-in\nPlay an advisory role to internal stake holders and provide thought leadership, process enhancement and automation recommendations\nDevelop firmware and help launch great consumer IoT products as part of Ayla’s professional services engineering team.\nReview customer and 3rdparty code, and provide handover strategies, feedback, best practices and guidance to ensure our customer build great IoT products.\nTriage and troubleshoot issues reported by the customers and internal teams on the Ayla firmware for embedded modules, Linux applications and platform operating systems.\nDesired Skills and Experience\n7+ years of firmware development experience in an embedded domain.\nExperience with networking protocols on embedded platforms: Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, MQTT, ZigBee, Z-Wave.\nProficiency in C programming, data structures and algorithms\nDetailed operational knowledge of L2, L3, L4 protocols, switching, routing, gateway and service discovery\nDetailed operational knowledge of L2, L3 and L4 level security\nStrong problem solving and complex software development/troubleshooting skills.\nExperience in scripting using Python, Perl\nExperience in implementing RFCs\nExperience with RTOS embedded experience ( VxWorks, PSOS, Linux OS)\nHands on Experience in Linux Kernel Modules, Linux Kernel networking\nHands-on knowledge of drivers, I/Os, peripherals, sensors and serial devices\nOwnership, team player, time management skills and good interpersonal and communication skills\nWilling to learn and scale up with contemporary tools and technologies\nEducation: BS/MS in Engineering or Computer Science\nThis position is to join a challenging new and exciting high growth industry.
