This is a highly visible\nrole with the opportunity to influence infrastructure architecture, reliability, automation,\ncloud efficiency, and the future evolution of Ayla's global platform.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nWork in a collaborative, engineering culture where teams work together to solve\nchallenging technical problems.\nManage and improve highly scalable, reliable systems supporting millions of\ndevices and users across seven geographically distributed platform instances.\nPlay a significant role in the reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency\nof Ayla's global cloud infrastructure.\nCollaborate with engineering leaders and peers across multiple countries to\ndevelop repeatable and scalable objectives.\nWork closely with the U.S. Vice President of DevOps to plan and execute short- and\nlong-term infrastructure improvement initiatives, including architecture, budgeting,\nimplementation, and cloud cost optimization.\nIdentify opportunities for automation and other process enhancements\nParticipate in a scheduled 24/7 on-call rotation supporting production systems.\nDesired Skills and Experience\n8+ years of industry experience supporting Docker-based microservices, PaaS\nenvironments, and cloud technologies.\n5+ years of networking experience supporting high-availability applications on\nAWS and GCP. Experience with both platforms is preferred, including HTTP- and\nMQTT-based ingestion and messaging solutions.\nProficiency in Linux with 5+ years of hands-on experience in system\nadministration, user and machine administration, package management, and\nscripting using Python and Bash.\n5+ years of experience deploying and operating cloud applications, including\nAWS and GCP. Azure experience is a plus.\n3+ years of experience managing high-availability Kafka clusters, with a strong\nunderstanding of Kafka internals, including brokers, producers, consumers, and\npartitions.\n3+ years of database administration experience with technologies such as\nMySQL, Cassandra, or other NoSQL databases.\n3+ years of experience in log collection and analysis, performance\nmonitoring/tuning, using tools such as Coralogix, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry,\nNew Relic, Datadog, or similar platforms.\n3+ years of experience with infrastructure automation tools, particularly\nTerraform.
