AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a DGS Support Analyst. This is an IT-adjacent, operations-focused position responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's proprietary DGS system. DGS is utilized throughout the company's galvanizing facilities to monitor plant statistics, production metrics, operational performance, and other key plant data.
This position requires regular travel to galvanizing facilities to provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot system and data issues, assist with system implementations and upgrades, train plant personnel, and identify opportunities to improve the use of DGS throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is technically capable, highly analytical, comfortable working in an industrial environment, and able to translate operational needs into practical technology solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the company's proprietary DGS platform across assigned galvanizing facilities.
- Manage DGS user accounts, permissions, configurations, settings, and system access.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot application, configuration, connectivity, and data-related issues.
- Identify recurring system issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability and usability.
- Coordinate with internal IT personnel, software developers, vendors, and plant personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Assist with DGS upgrades, enhancements, testing, implementations, and deployments.
- Maintain current documentation regarding system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Ensure appropriate system controls and access practices are followed.
- 2+ years of experience in IT, systems administration, operations technology, manufacturing technology, data systems, or a related field.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, connectivity, and data-related issues.
- Ability to learn, administer, and support proprietary software applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with IT, Operations, Engineering, and Management.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to galvanizing and manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to work effectively in an industrial environment.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Minimum Education
- Associates degree required.
- Technical Support Certification (e.g., MCSA, A+, CCNA) preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience will be considered.
