This role leads process improvements through engineering methods and data analysis, manages capital projects and equipment upgrades, and supports manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include coordinating work with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders and serving as the technical lead for process equipment and operations. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, experience in heavy industrial or process environments, and proficiency in basic engineering design calculations. This position offers opportunities to expand your professional skills while seeing the real-world impact of your work.\nResponsibilities\nEvaluate existing coil coating and metal processing lines to reduce downtime, minimize waste, and maximize productivity.\nStudy and recommend methods to improve existing equipment and processes.\nProvide technical support for process lines by identifying improvement opportunities, troubleshooting equipment, and responding to operator inquiries.\nHelp manage the company’s combustion systems by assisting maintenance managers with tuning and troubleshooting natural-gas-fired industrial burners, thermal oxidizers (recuperative and RTO), and combustion-air delivery systems to ensure safe gas firing and complete destruction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).\nDiagnose the root causes of refractory degradation, hot spots, thermal cracking, and material failure.\nUse process historians, including Rockwell/OSIsoft PI and ibaAnalyzer, to capture real-time operating data, trace system anomalies, and support root cause analysis (RCA).\nCoordinate design and installation activities with other departments.\nPerform basic heat-transfer calculations and thermodynamic modeling to improve the energy efficiency of the company’s thermal systems, including water heating and cooling systems and fluid-based chemical process systems.
