Position
Jr. Process Control Engineer (EIT), Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Supervisor, Instrumentation, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Program, maintain, and optimize the Emerson DeltaV DCS control system and integrated controllers.
- Regularly review and tune control loop performance to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Analyze and rationalize alarms to resolve system issues and improve performances.
- Administer, maintain, update, and back up servers and workstations associated with the control system.
- Develop custom automated reports to extract historian data for operations and maintenance needs.
- Support the integration of new mineral processing equipment into the control system.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental policies, regulations, and site standards in all activities.
- Foster effective and collaborative relationships with employees, contractors, and consultants to achieve company objectives.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in process control, preferably in gold or mineral processing plants, with experience in mineral processing equipment controls such as crushers and mills.
- Experience in Emerson DeltaV logic configuration, graphics and Emerson DeltaV Implementation 1 & 2, alarm management and rationalization is a strong asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Process Engineering.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, VBA, as well as experience with function block, structured text, ladder.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced control and linearization techniques; Working knowledge of MPC control is an asset.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards relevant to mining and minerals processing operations.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $128,154.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $46.50 and overtime rate of $69.75) in a work year.
