Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Canada, Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries.\nPosition\nSupervisor, Underground Trades, Nunavut\nLocation and Reporting Structure\nReporting to the Superintendent, Electrician, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.\nResponsibilities\nLeads installation, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of electrical and fixed equipment systems, including designing and improving electrical and mechanical systems and circuits.\nDevelops and communicates daily work plans while coordinating personnel, tools, materials, parts, documentation, and drawings to support efficient underground maintenance operations.\nDrives continuous improvement in work methods, safety practices, and equipment performance, while planning and scheduling activities to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.\nContributes to Maintenance Management System (MMS) development, including PM generation, record-keeping for inspections and calibrations, and ensuring a strong Preventative Maintenance program across electrical, mechanical, ventilation, and control systems.\nEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production requirements; performs physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, large cable pulls, and 5 kV testing and installations; and manages warehouse stock levels.\nApplies extensive underground mining experience to prioritize site needs, respond to callouts, and ensure reliable operations in a dynamic environment.\nDesired Competencies and Requirements\nFive (5) years of experience supervising Electricians and/or Millwrights in an underground mining environment, ideally including work in remote Arctic locations with limited resources, with additional assets including experience deploying Sandvik Tele-Remote systems and 5G LTE networks.\nJourneyman Electrician or Millwright Interprovincial Red Seal or Nunavut Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) is required.\nPossess a Workers’ Safety and Compensation commission (WSCC) Shift Boss or Level II Underground Supervisor Certificate is considered an asset.\nExperience using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) platforms, including SAP, complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).\nCompensation and Benefits\nFor informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $190,000.00\nB2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.\nApplication and Contact Information\nKitikmeot Inuit, Nunavut Inuit, and Residents receive priority hiring consideration, if one these categories applies, please state it after the reference number in the subject line.
