We’d love for you to join our team!\nJob Summary\nB&A is looking for a System Design Engineer (Electrical) that will be tasked with working with a collaborative design team working off of requirements based designed efforts. Design team will be responsible for the selection and/or development of electronic suites of equipment for industrial and DoD use. Electrical design engineering position utilizes CAD/CAM/PLM based software packages to create detailed product drawings and 3D models of new products, product assemblies, and engineering change orders. The position requires collaboration internal to the department between engineering, production, and support staff.\nResponsibilities\nProduct Design and Technical Drawings\nCreate detailed models and engineering drawings for new discrete parts and products, redesigns, revisions, and associated integrated assemblies.\nCollaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop 3D models, assemblies, and illustrations that support prototypes, final designs, manufacturing requirements, and quality specifications.\nFollow established engineering drawing and submittal processes.\nEngineering Documentation and Configuration Management\nPerform drafting, illustration, technical documentation, and supporting administrative duties related to new part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and drawings.\nPrepare BOMs to support the transition of products into production.\nMaintain system-generated engineering files to reflect engineering and customer changes.\nMaintain and reconcile revisions across drawing files, model files, and production systems.\nCross-Functional Collaboration and Manufacturing Support\nCoordinate with engineers, customers, and other organizations to ensure product specifications are accurately documented.\nWork with fabricators to clarify model files and drawings and support build operations for third-party fabrication.\nEducation:\n Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.\nRequired Skills\nCAD Design and Engineering Documentation\nExperience using industry-standard 3D CAD software, such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or comparable platforms, to produce quality engineering drawings in accordance with established standards and workflows.\nAbility to create, modify, maintain, and accurately check electrical system drawing packages and model files, including interpreting multidisciplinary product drawings and electrical hardware interfaces.\nElectrical Hardware and Systems Integration\nProficiency in designing cable assemblies including fiber-optic, data, power, and Ethernet to support fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting.\nAbility to select commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components and/or design custom computer and network systems, including processors, storage devices, power supplies, displays, servers, switches, and associated electrical hardware.\nAbility to integrate and verify electrical hardware at all system levels.\nTools and Physical Requirements\nAbility to operate basic hand tools and work while standing or sitting for extended periods.\nDesired Skills\nFour or more years of electrical cabling design and drafting experience, including proficiency with Solid Edge.\nExperience with military hardware designs and standards, as well as electromagnetic interference/radio-frequency interference (EMI/RFI) design and testing.\nExperience working in a laboratory environment.\nSecurity Clearance\nShall have the ability to obtain a security clearance if required.\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nEmployees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without accommodation.\nAbility to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer.\nFrequently operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.\nAbility to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and email.\nOccasionally move about the office and lift up to 25 pounds.\nAbility to work the assigned schedule with regular and reliable attendance.\nAbility to travel up to 10% as required.\nMore About B&A:\nB&A delivers secure, innovative, and mission-critical IT solutions to support the United States Government across all three branches-Executive, Legislative, and Judicial-focused on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.
