We’d love for you to join our team!\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced System Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems. This role is responsible for translating business and mission requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable technical solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.\nThe ideal candidate will possess deep systems engineering expertise, experience supporting complex IT environments, and a strong understanding of systems architecture, Agile methodologies, and solution design. Experience within the geospatial industry is highly desirable.\nResponsibilities\nProvide technical leadership for the design, development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems and solutions. \nAnalyze business, operational, and mission requirements and translate them into technical architectures and system design solutions. \nDevelop and maintain system engineering artifacts, including system architecture diagrams, interface specifications, requirements traceability matrices, and technical documentation. \nApply systems engineering principles, frameworks, and best practices throughout the system lifecycle. \nEnsure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and organizational objectives. \nSupport the development and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure IT systems. \nLead system design reviews, technical assessments, and architecture evaluations. \nCollaborate with stakeholders, project managers, developers, architects, and operational teams to ensure successful system delivery. \nDrive the adoption and utilization of Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies across engineering teams. \nSupport quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and best practices. \nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to system performance, reliability, and maintainability. \nIdentify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the system lifecycle. \nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and project teams. \nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field \nMinimum of 15 years of professional experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, enterprise IT, or related technical leadership roles. \nRequired Skills\nExperience supporting organizations within the geospatial industry. \nExperience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DoDAF, or similar. \nFamiliarity with cloud-based architectures and modern DevSecOps practices. \nExperience supporting large-scale government, defense, intelligence, or mission-critical systems. \nAdditional certifications related to systems engineering, architecture, cloud technologies, or Agile methodologies. \nCertifications\nDesired:\n Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification. \nDesired Skills\nSystems Engineering \nEnterprise Architecture \nRequirements Analysis and Management \nSolution Design and Technical Leadership \nSystems Integration \nAgile and SAFe Methodologies \nTechnical Documentation \nQuality Assurance and Compliance \nRisk Management \nStakeholder Engagement \nGeospatial Systems and Technologies \nCloud Computing and Infrastructure \nDevSecOps Practices \nStrategic Planning and Decision-Making \nSecurity Clearance\n U.S. Citizenship required \nMore About B&A:\nNotable Clients\nB&A has grown to be a company that is trusted by our clients for exceptional service, innovative solutions, and inspired employees.
