Working alongside experienced project professionals, you'll play a key role in coordinating project activities, maintaining governance and controls, and ensuring programmes are delivered safely, effectively and efficiently. Whether you're looking to build on existing project management experience or take the next step in your career, this role offers the opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic and highly impactful environment.\nThe role\nAs an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the successful planning, coordination and delivery of complex programmes within our Naval Nuclear team. You'll work closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure project information, governance activities and reporting processes are maintained to the highest standards.\nYour contribution will enable informed decision-making, strengthen programme performance and help deliver projects that make a real difference to the UK's defence capability. In return, you'll gain exposure to major programmes, learn from experienced professionals and access excellent career development opportunities within one of the UK's leading defence, aerospace and engineering organisations.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be required to:\nSupporting project planning, governance, reporting and stakeholder coordination activities.\nMaintaining project controls, schedules, resource information and project documentation.\nProducing accurate reports and management information to support programme performance.\nCoordinating multidisciplinary teams and monitoring actions, risks and project deliverables.\nEnsuring compliance with project management standards, processes and governance requirements.\nThis role is full-time, 37 hours per week, based on site at Devonport. Working hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 12:30pm Friday.\nEssential experience of the Assistant Project Manager:\nExperience in project support, project coordination, programme management office or project delivery environments.\nWorking knowledge of project controls, governance processes, reporting and stakeholder management.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.\nA collaborative approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.\nQualifications for the Assistant Project Manager\nAPM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or an equivalent foundation-level project management qualification.\nA recognised Level 4 qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience is preferred.\nSecurity Clearance\nThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
