If you join us, you can play your part as a Data Scientist, working remotely with fortnightly visits to our Andover site.\nThe role\nAs a Data Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most ambitious defence transformation programme. This is not a traditional data science role focused solely on reporting and analysis. You'll apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics and forecasting techniques to solve complex real-world challenges across asset management, maintenance optimisation, logistics and operational readiness. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions, improve equipment availability and support the development of innovative solutions that strengthen national defence capabilities.\nDay-to-day you'll be required to:\nBuild predictive models to support maintenance optimisation and asset management decision-making.\nDevelop machine learning and forecasting solutions that improve equipment availability and operational readiness.\nTransform complex operational and telematics data into actionable business insights.\nCollaborate with engineering, maintenance, digital and operational teams to solve business challenges through data science.\nPresent analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nThe role is remote, with fortnightly visits to our Andover site. The role is contracted to 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.\nEssential experience of the Data Scientist:\nExperience using Python, SQL and data science tools to analyse large datasets and deliver actionable insights.\nStrong background in machine learning, predictive modelling, forecasting and statistical analysis.\nExperience developing and implementing data-driven solutions that improve operational or business performance.\nAbility to communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, ideally in engineering, logistics, defence, industrial or asset-intensive environments.\nQualifications for the Data Scientist:\nDegree in Data Science, Computer Science, Operational Research, Mathematics, Statistics or a related analytical discipline.\nSecurity Clearance\nThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
