You'll play a key role in helping maintain safe working environments by managing radiation dose monitoring programmes and ensuring robust dosimetry arrangements that support the delivery of critical defence and infrastructure projects. Working within our Naval Nuclear business, you'll develop specialist expertise while contributing to work that directly supports national security and the safe operation of vital facilities.\nDay-to-day, you’ll provide essential support to managers across the Devonport site, helping them fulfil their responsibilities to maintain individual and collective radiation doses as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders, managing dosimetry services, contracts, budgets, monitoring programmes and specialist equipment while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.\nOperating the Devonport Site Dosimetry System in line with legislation, company requirements and industry best practice.\nManaging dosimetry-related contracts, budgets and associated records using company systems.\nCoordinating and monitoring the site's Radon Monitoring Programme.\nOverseeing the day-to-day operation of the Whole-Body Monitor, its operators and associated radioactive sources.\nMaintaining dosimetry equipment and hardware assets, including the use of maintenance management systems.\nThis role is full-time 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.\nEssential experience of the Dosimetry Controller\nExperience in office administration, including the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nExperience working with customers, stakeholders and external suppliers.\nRecent experience administering dosimetry programmes or services.\nRecent experience working within radiation protection or a related regulated environment.\nExperience managing contracts and budgets.\nQualifications for the Dosimetry Controller\nEssential:\nGCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Science, Mathematics, English Language and English Literature.\nDesirable:\nNVQ in Administration, Customer Service or a related discipline.\nSecurity Clearance\nThe successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
