Working within our Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) programme, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing secure network services that make a real difference to national security. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced technologies, develop highly sought-after skills, and collaborate with talented engineers on projects of strategic importance.\nThe role\nAs a Network Support Engineer, you'll provide advanced technical support across secure communications and network infrastructure, helping to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of critical systems. You'll work on fault investigation, system upgrades, network enhancements, and the introduction of new technologies, while contributing to the continuous evolution of military communications capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your expertise in IP networking, telecommunications, satellite communications, and secure systems engineering.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be required to:\nRespond to customer faults, network incidents and performance issues.\nManage the installation and configuration of new system elements.\nTest and commissioning of new equipment and services.\nEnsure new services and systems meet UK security requirements.\nManage obsolescence within the existing system to ensure the system remains supportable and compliant to security requirements.\nProvide 3rd/4th line technical support to the customer, 3rd parties and wider MILSATCOM teams.\nPart of an on-call rota to support fault diagnosis and rectification out of normal working hours.\n\nThis role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Corsham.\nEssential experience of the Network Support Engineer:\nExperience in the design and delivery of IP communication networks, ideally with Cisco accreditation.\nKnowledge of IP network architectures\nKnowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) Satellite communications technology would be an advantage.\nExperience working in a telecommunication or satellite communication company.\nQualifications for the Network Support Engineer\nDegree or a qualification with equivalent demonstratable experience in a relevant Engineering Discipline.\nHold or working towards Cisco Associate (CCNA) certification is ideal as a minimum\nSecurity Clearance\nThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
