You'll contribute to work that directly supports national security while developing your expertise in a highly regulated and technically challenging environment.\nThe role\nAs a Nuclear Facilities Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of nuclear facilities equipment and systems. Working within a specialist engineering team, you'll carry out inspection, testing, fault diagnosis, calibration and commissioning activities while helping to maintain the highest standards of nuclear safety, quality and engineering excellence.\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer or a qualified Electrical Fitter looking to take the next step in their career. You'll gain exposure to complex engineering challenges, develop specialist knowledge and make a meaningful contribution to essential national infrastructure.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be required to:\nCarrying out inspection, testing, calibration and commissioning activities on nuclear facilities equipment and systems.\nDiagnosing faults and identifying effective corrective solutions to maintain operational performance.\nCoordinating maintenance, repair and breakdown activities in line with safety, quality, cost and time requirements.\nRecording defects, deficiencies and emergent work through accurate technical documentation.\nEnsuring compliance with nuclear safety standards, site licence conditions and engineering procedures.\nThis is a Full-time, 35 hours per week, based at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Set working times are Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 3:30pm, Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm. This role is based onsite five days per week.\nEssential experience of the Nuclear Facilities Electrical Engineer:\nExperience carrying out maintenance, repair or breakdown activities on heavy-duty engineering systems.\nDemonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills when working across teams and stakeholders.\nProducing accurate technical documentation and records in a timely manner.\nWorking flexibly to support shift patterns, including occasional weekend working when required.\nAbility to work safely at height.\nQualifications for the Nuclear Facilities Electrical Engineer:\nEssential:\nONC or NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.\nDesirable:\nExperience within nuclear, electrical control and instrumentation, or crane maintenance environments.\nTesting, commissioning or fault-finding experience on complex electrical systems.\nSecurity Clearance\nThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
