If you answered yes to these three questions, we may have an opportunity for you!\nJob Title: Operations Coordinator\nLocation: Dicmo, Dalmatia, Croatia\nReports To: Operations Lead, Croatia\nJob Overview\nAs a full-time Operations Coordinator at Backroads’ Croatia Hub, you are responsible for coordinating ground warehouse operations and execution of the hub’s yearly operational cycle.\nActing as the bridge between planning and execution, you ensure that van fleet, equipment, spaces, and workflows are always organized, functional, and ready to support field operations. \nThis role plays a central part in ensuring that the hub operates efficiently through Van Fleet Prep (season start), Unit Loads (season start) and End-of-Season Maintenance - EOSM (season end). \nYou’ll also play a key role in fostering cross-hub collaboration during loads to align shared inventory and transport logistics. If you thrive on solving operational puzzles, have a hands-on approach, love active travel culture, and enjoy working in a collaborative international environment, we’d love to meet you.\nKey Responsibilities\nVan Fleet\nCoordinate the day-to-day management of the company van fleet to ensure vehicles are operational, safe, and trip-ready\nMaking sure the vans are equipped for the load (installing roof racks and additional company specific van requirements)\nSchedule and track preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs.\nMaintain accurate fleet records, including registrations, insurance, maintenance history, and compliance documentation.\nEnsure vehicle compliance with company safety standards and local regulatory requirements.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability, efficiency, and guest experience.\nWarehouse & Inventory Management\nMaintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse\nManage inventory, storage systems, and equipment tracking\nReceive and dispatch materials and packages\nEnsure clear storage standards and efficient material flow\nContinuously improve warehouse layout, organization, and accessibility\nEnsure all equipment is correctly staged and ready for operations\nUnit Load & EOSM Execution\nThis role is central to both phases of the operational cycle:\nUnit Loads (Season Start)\nPrepare and stage equipment based on Unit Load plans\nSupport loading operations and ensure execution aligns with planning\nAssist Field Staff during load days\nEnsure clarity, completeness, and efficiency during loading\n\nEnd-of-Season Maintenance (EOSM)\nCoordinate return and unloading of all equipment (vans, bikes, unit inventory)\nEnsure proper inventory, organization, and tracking of all returned materials\nSupport maintenance processes (cleaning, repair, reallocation)\nReset warehouse and operational environment for the following season\nFacility Coordination & Maintenance\nEnsure daily functionality of all hub spaces\nMaintain clean, safe, and functional work environments\nPerform hands-on fixes and small repairs using basic tools\nIdentify opportunities to improve facility usability and efficiency\nCoordinate small-scale facility improvements and external contractors\nTeam Leadership\nAssist to lead and to coordinate staff on temporary assignments\nProvide structure, guidance, and support to seasonal staff\nEnsure consistency and quality of execution across operations\nPromote a collaborative and structured working environment\nCollaboration & Communication\nWork closely with Operations Lead \nSupport clear execution of Unit Load assignments\nAct as a point of contact for Field Staff during load operations\nCollaborate with European hubs on planning, inventory and logistics alignment\nQualifications\nOperations Experience: 2+ years in warehouse, logistics, facility, or operational roles\nHands-On Approach: Comfortable with physical work and basic repairs\nProblem Solving: Practical, proactive, and solution-oriented\nOrganization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities\nDriving Skills: Valid driver’s license and confidence driving vans and trailers\n Technical Skills: Comfortable with Excel, Using BR OPS systems (OPS Dashboard, Ascent, Command Centre) AI skills welcomed \nCommunication: Fluent English, Croatian preferred\nPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs\nAbout Backroads:\nFounded in 1979, Backroads is the world’s leading guest-focused travel company, offering luxury Biking, Hiking & Walking, and Multi-Adventure Trips for active people of all ages and experience levels.
