We’re seeking a B2 Principal Product Manager to join our team!\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking an ambitious and accomplished Principal Product Manager to join our Product team. Backblaze’s B2 cloud object storage offers multi-exabyte, S3-compatible, globally available object storage that unlocks app builder innovation across AI neoclouds and traditional hyperscalers at a fraction of the cost of traditional cloud infrastructure hyperscalers.\nThe Principal Product Manager for B2 will work closely with key stakeholders to understand the evolution of cloud storage and the customer problems in the space, and determine product strategies and roadmap to address those problems. This person will work independently to lead efforts for new feature discovery and delivery, as well as improvements to execute on those strategies. Understanding customer problems through interviews and market research, and translating them into requirements, is critical.\nWhat You'll Do\nDrive B2 product strategy and roadmap development through delivery execution.\nLead the end-to-end product development lifecycle from discovery through delivery in feature development.\nGather and synthesize inputs for discovery and prioritization from internal functions, customers, and partners across the full spectrum of R&D development, including feature capabilities, user experience challenges, cost optimization, and technical debt.\nTranslate complex customer challenges into clear, concise, and actionable product requirements in collaboration with Design, Engineering, and GTM teams.\nCollaborate with Product Marketing to launch and drive adoption of new products and features.\nAct as a subject matter expert and evangelist for Backblaze's solutions, presenting to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams.\nEstablish and track key product metrics (KPIs), using data to guide iteration and growth decisions.\nMaintain a deep understanding of the latest advancements in the object storage market, including customer use cases and competitive offerings, to identify new opportunities and ensure Backblaze’s market leadership position.\nThe Right Fit\n8+ years of Product Management experience in tech businesses, preferably on IaaS and/or SaaS offerings.\nA proven track record of successfully launching and scaling technical products or platforms in high-growth businesses involving in-depth cross-functional collaboration and leadership across R&D and go-to-market functions.\nStrong grasp of cloud architecture, APIs, and security and compliance.\nProven success in owning product roadmaps, defining MVPs, and driving the complete product life cycle.\nStrategic thinker who can translate market trends, customer needs, and technical innovations into a clear product vision and actionable roadmap.\nDeep empathy for customers and users in gathering and synthesizing input, and a passion for solving their most pressing security challenges.\nOutstanding communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to identifying problems, determining potential solutions, and building consensus around your vision with internal and external stakeholders.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience applying data and metrics to inform product decisions and measure success.\nBonus Points For\nExpertise in cloud storage and computing from hyperscale and neocloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, GPU clouds, and CDNs.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\nMBA degree.\nApplication development programming experience.\nExpertise in applying GenAI in solution prototyping and agentic workflow development.\nBackblaze Perks\nRSU grants for full-time employees.\nAnnual company bonus plan.\nHealthcare for family, including dental and vision.\n401K.\nESPP program.\nFlexible vacation policy.\nMaternity and paternity leave.\nMacBook Pro for work, plus a generous stipend to personalize your workstation.\nChildcare bonus (human children only).\nFertility treatment and support.\nLearning and development program.\nCommuter benefits.\nA culture that supports a healthy work-life balance.\nTo provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state.
