experience with Workday Financial Management preferred.\n\nExperience supporting grant audits, financial audits, or compliance reviews.\n\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.\n\nStrong understanding of grant compliance and funding requirements.\n\nExcellent analytical and financial problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to interpret complex funding agreements and translate them into financial processes.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills when working with program leadership.\n\nStrong organizational and project management skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple grants and reporting deadlines simultaneously.\n\nHigh integrity and commitment to financial stewardship.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA or CPA candidate preferred.\n\nExperience working with federal or state grant funding and Uniform Guidance compliance.\n\nExperience managing complex grant portfolios and multi-funded projects.\n\nExperience supporting Single Audit processes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nGrant & Project Financial Management\nOversee financial management for the organization’s portfolio of grants, contracts, and program funding.\n\nEnsure all project-related financial transactions are properly recorded and aligned with approved budgets and funding restrictions.\n\nReview and approve funder billings and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant agreements and funding requirements.\n\nMonitor project expenditures and ensure costs are allowable, allocable, and properly documented.\n\nOversee allocation methodologies for multi-funded projects and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.\n\nEnsure proper classification and tracking of restricted and unrestricted funds.\n\nFinancial Reporting & Program Support\nPartner with Program Managers and leadership to provide financial guidance and oversight for grant-funded programs.\n\nReview and analyze project financial performance, including budget-to-actual analysis and forecasting.\n\nDevelop financial reports for internal stakeholders and external funders.\n\nProvide guidance to program teams on financial policies, grant compliance, and reporting timelines.\n\nSupport program leadership in interpreting funding requirements and financial performance.\n\nCompliance, Audit & Internal Controls\nEnsure compliance with federal, state, and private funder requirements, including Uniform Guidance when applicable.\n\nSupport preparation for annual financial statement audits, Single Audits, and grant audits.\n\nReview audit schedules and documentation related to grants and project funding.\n\nDevelop and maintain policies and procedures related to grant and project accounting.\n\nStrengthen internal controls related to project spending, billing, and reporting.\n\nTeam Leadership & Process Improvement\nSupervise and mentor the Senior Project Accountants and Project Accountants.\n\nProvide guidance, training, and performance management to support team development.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve grant accounting processes and financial reporting workflows.\n\nCollaborate with the general ledger team to ensure accurate integration between project accounting and financial reporting.\n\nSupport the optimization of financial systems and reporting tools, including Workday Financial Management.\n\n About Us:\nBay Area Community Resources (BACR) promotes the healthy development of individuals, families and communities through direct services, volunteerism, and partnerships in the San Francisco Bay Area.\nWe have deep respect for the communities we serve throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, the dedicated staff who show up for those in need, and the opportunity we have been given through this work to promote resilience in tens of thousands of individuals every year.\nBACR is an equal opportunity employer.
