This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel equipment, ultimately supporting the overall operational success of the organization.\n$45.00 - $55.00 per hour and up based on experience with many opportunities for pay increases and career advancement!\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nPerforms inspection, diagnosis and repair of assigned vehicles and equipment and preventative maintenance such as oil changes and greasing of trucks.\nConducts safety checks on trucks.\nMaintains a clear line of communication to the Branch Manager and Regional Fleet Staff and other staff in the maintenance department.\nKeeps the Fleet operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.\nUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.\nOccasionally may perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.\nMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established procedures.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nWhat You'll Need For Success:\nEducation: High School Diploma. \nInterprovincial Red Seal 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certification. \nClass B CDL license is preferred but not required.\nMust be able to operate a motor vehicle, G license required.\nSome knowledge with electronic diagnostics.\nExperience with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis a plus.\nExperience with troubleshooting Hydrovac equipment a plus.\nKnowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations, and safety is helpful.\nKnowledge of transportation management system, a plus.\nComputer literate: Fleetio, Microsoft, Outlook, and Excel.\nAbility to interpret work orders and technical manuals on paper and PC-based formats.\nProven experience in maintaining surplus inventory, stocking parts, and managing equipment supply orders\nWill be required to provide your own standard tools; all specialty tools will be provided.\nAttention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy.\nExcellent communication skills both internally and with customers.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.\nDemands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching.
