At Badger Meter, your contributions will ripple far beyond the workplace - creating lasting change for people and the planet.\nWhat You Will Contribute:\nThe Engineer I, Firmware will support Badger Meter’s continued growth and alignment amongst product families. The Engineer I contributes to aspects of embedded systems regarding firmware development and product performance testing. The Engineer I assists projects involving new product development and maintaining existing products in the production environment while gaining product knowledge. This individual contributor role offers autonomy, creativity, and the opportunity to work side by side with the Engineering leaders. The incumbent must be willing and able to learn, work effectively in a multi-discipline team, and demonstrate effective problem-solving initiative and motivation.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:\nDesign firmware component/portion of a project with oversight\nProvide firmware support for product and sustaining engineering with oversight from more senior engineers.\nPerform product and design verification tests\nAssist in defining plans/production implementations\nWrite product work instructions/process documents\nInitiate and implement engineering change requests\nParticipates in multi-discipline project teams, provide input into project schedules, budgets and risks.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nNo previous experience required \nBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or CS/Software/Firmware Engineering.\nBasic working design knowledge of embedded microcontroller/microprocessor firmware (C, C++, etc.)\nFamiliarly with revision control systems (Git or SVN)\nBasic understanding of digital circuit design and troubleshooting.\nBasic familiarity with implementing schematics for digital circuits, with common ECAD tools (Altium, PCAD, or Protel)\nExperience working with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers for troubleshooting PCBs and electronic products. (Preferred)\nExperience working with other company departments on occasion in technical support of products.
