As an Engineer I - Hydro Lab Test, you’ll play a key role in validating the performance and reliability of products used by customers around the world.\nWe are seeking someone with an Test Engineering background and a passion and interest in testing and problem solving.\nYou’ll work alongside experienced engineers to design and execute test solutions, improve lab systems, and contribute to product development from concept through validation.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPerform performance and compliance testing on flow meters, sensors, and communication products\nSupport the design and development of test setups, control systems, and automated data acquisition tools\nCollect, analyze, and interpret test data to inform product performance and quality decisions\nDevelop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and documentation\nTroubleshoot and support existing lab equipment, hardware, and software systems\nAssist in defining test plans, scope, and timelines for engineering projects\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management teams\nContribute to continuous improvement of lab capabilities and testing methods\nWhat You Bring\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to take initiative and work both independently and within a team environment\nEffective communication skills and attention to detail\nPreferred Qualifications\nInternship, co-op, preferably 1-2 years of experience in engineering, testing, or lab environments\nExposure to programming or automation tools (e.g., Python, PLCs/Allen-Bradley)\nFamiliarity with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, or lab testing equipment\nBasic understanding of software development concepts and data analysis methods\nExperience working in a manufacturing or product development environment\nKey Success Traits\nCurious and eager to learn through hands-on experimentation\nProactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks and projects\nCollaborative mindset with the ability to work across disciplines\nStrong commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement\nCompetitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:\nCompetitive Pay\n\nAnnual Bonus\n\nEligible for Annual Pay Increases\n\nComprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage\n\n15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays\n\nTwo Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
