We're looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Lab Technician to join our engineering team and play a critical role in testing, validating, and improving product performance.\nIn this role, you'll work alongside Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers to support product development through mechanical and hydro testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities:\nExecute mechanical and performance testing for new and existing products using established test procedures and standards.\nSet up, configure, and operate test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation to support development and validation activities.\nTest production components and prototypes to evaluate functionality, reliability, and performance.\nCollaborate with Design Engineers and cross-functional teams to investigate product performance and support development projects.\nAccurately document test results, observations, and conclusions in technical reports and engineering databases.\nAnalyze and verify test data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and repeatability.\nInterpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and test plans.\nUtilize precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and microscopes for product inspection and evaluation.\nSupport calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.\nIdentify opportunities to improve testing methods, laboratory equipment, safety practices, and overall lab efficiency.\nAssist with preventive maintenance activities and contribute to a safe, organized laboratory environment.\nWhat We're Looking For\nStrong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem solving.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and technicians.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to clearly document and communicate testing observations and results.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.\nComfortable working in a laboratory and testing environment with various mechanical systems and equipment.\nQualifications\nAssociate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent post-secondary education in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.\n1-3 years of experience in a mechanical testing, laboratory, manufacturing, product development, or engineering support environment.\nExperience using precision measurement tools and laboratory instrumentation preferred.\nExperience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation preferred.\nWhy Join Us?\nThis is an opportunity to work directly with engineers on innovative products, gain exposure to product development and testing, and help deliver solutions that make a real impact.
