At Badger Meter, your contributions will ripple far beyond the workplace - creating lasting change for people and the planet.\nWhat You Will Contribute:\nField Support Technician\nPosition Summary\nThe Field Support Technician provides technical support for telemetry, communication, and control systems used by utility customers. This role is responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, guiding customers through solutions, coordinating field service activities, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.\nThe ideal candidate enjoys solving technical problems, communicating with customers, and learning new technologies. Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, including industrial maintenance, electronics, telecommunications, utilities, controls, military technical occupations, or related technical fields.\nTraining will be provided on Badger Meter products, telemetry systems, software platforms, and troubleshooting processes.\nKey Responsibilities\nRespond to customer inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, and remote support tools.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and system-related issues.\nGuide customers through corrective actions while delivering a positive customer experience.\nDocument troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and next steps in service management systems.\nCoordinate field service visits with customers and internal teams when onsite support is required.\nInterpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and product manuals to identify potential issues.\nAssist with troubleshooting telemetry, communication, and control systems.\nUtilize software tools and databases to review system information and support customer inquiries.\nEscalate complex technical issues when necessary and collaborate with senior technicians and engineering teams.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation to support customer needs outside of standard business hours.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on customer satisfaction, ticket resolution, and service quality.\nAssist with mentoring and onboarding of new team members as experience grows.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n1+ years of experience in a technical, maintenance, electronics, telecommunications, utilities, military, or related role.\nValid Florida Drivers License. \nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to learn and apply new technologies, software systems, and technical processes.\nExcellent customer service and communication skills.\nAbility to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.\nComfortable working with computers, multiple software applications, and technical documentation.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior experience in one or more of the following areas is suggested:\nIndustrial controls or automation systems\nElectrical systems or wiring\nReading electrical schematics and technical drawings\nPLCs or control logic\nRF or wireless communications\nTelemetry systems\nHMI or SCADA systems\nComputer networking\nLinux environments\nSQL databases\nSalesforce or other CRM/service management platforms\nWater, wastewater, utility, or industrial operations\nMilitary technical experience is highly valued.\nWhat Will Make Someone Successful\nEnjoys troubleshooting complex problems and finding solutions.\nCommunicates clearly and confidently with customers.\nCan balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nDemonstrates a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.\nEnjoys learning new technologies and expanding technical knowledge.\nWorks effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift and move up to 30 pounds of equipment.\nAbility to occasionally travel to customer sites.\nWork Environment & Travel\nPrimarily office-based with customer support responsibilities.\nRegional travel required as needed, primarily throughout the southeastern United States.\nTypical schedule is Monday through Friday with some flexibility.\nParticipation in an on-call rotation after training and onboarding.\nCompetitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:\nCompetitive Pay\n\nAnnual Bonus\n\nEligible for Annual Pay Increases\n\nComprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage\n\n15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays\n\nTwo Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
