At Badger Meter, your contributions will ripple far beyond the workplace - creating lasting change for people and the planet.\nWhat You Will Contribute:\nThe Lead Assembler is responsible for leading a team of assemblers over multiple product families. Duties include communicating with employees, management, and sales regarding daily assembly requirements and implementing safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.\nJob Duties:\nCoordinates the day-to-day operation by leading and directing a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow; Organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedule.\n\nReads and follows specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products and examining completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders, correct any problems\n\nProvide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices.\nMaintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures\n\nActs as liaison, representing the team in general; point of contact for general assembly and quality control questions\n\nTrains new employees and instructs employees on the proper use of equipment and tools\n\nDisplay strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service.\n\nProvide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh School Degree/GED required\n\n5+ years of experience in assembly/leadership desired\n\nQualifications:\nLean 101 training preferred\n\nExperience in a Lean environmentpreferred\n\nExperience with electronic assemblyrequired\n\nDemonstrates strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer-focused mentality required\n\nAbility to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as neededrequired\n\nCompetencies:\nCollaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.\n\nCommunication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others.\n\nInitiating Action: Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactive.\n\nWork Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nWork is performed in a Manufacturing environment\n\nDepending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test\n\nThose working in the Aerospace department must be able to pass a Vision, Color Vision, and Depth perception test\n\nThis position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.\n\nMust be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.\n\nCompetitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:\nCompetitive Pay\n\nAnnual Bonus\n\nEligible for Annual Pay Increases\n\nComprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage\n\n15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays\n\nTwo Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
