At Badger Meter, your contributions will ripple far beyond the workplace - creating lasting change for people and the planet.\nWhat You Will Contribute:\nAs an Inspector, you'll play a key role in ensuring incoming materials, work-in-process components, and finished products meet our quality standards and customer expectations. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you'll help identify issues, improve processes, and ensure products leave our facility ready for success.\nWhat You'll Do\nInterpret blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to verify production requirements and tolerance limits.\nPerform inspections of incoming materials, first articles, in-process components, purchased parts, and finished products.\nConduct testing and measurements to verify product dimensions, fit, appearance, and performance.\nPerform specialized testing, including hardness and holiday testing.\nIdentify and troubleshoot print, drawing, and bill of materials discrepancies.\nDocument inspection results and maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and rework orders.\nCoordinate the routing of nonconforming products for rework or corrective action.\nInvestigate quality concerns and assist in resolving production issues that impact product quality.\nCommunicate quality findings and deviations to production and plant leadership.\nRecommend improvements to quality standards, inspection processes, and production methods.\nVerify products are packaged and prepared appropriately to minimize damage during shipment.\nProcess purchased material damage reports when incorrect or damaged materials are received.\nWhat You'll Bring\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nPrevious manufacturing, quality inspection, or related experience preferred.\nEntry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.\nQualifications\nBasic math skills and the ability to perform measurements accurately.\nBasic computer proficiency for documentation and recordkeeping.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications preferred.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nKey Competencies\nQuality Focus - Maintains high standards and takes ownership of work quality.\nInitiative - Takes proactive steps to identify and resolve issues.\nCommunication - Shares information clearly and effectively with team members and leadership.\n Collaboration - Works effectively across departments to achieve shared goals.\nWorking Conditions\nManufacturing environment.\nFrequent standing and walking throughout the shift.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nDepending on the assigned department, must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test.\nCompetitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:\nCompetitive Pay\n\nEligible for Annual Pay Increases\n\nComprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage\n\n15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays\n\nTwo Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
