You'll collaborate with a talented multidisciplinary team of engineers, serve as a subject matter expert for complex electrical systems, and help bring cutting-edge products to market that make a real impact on global water sustainability.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead the electrical hardware design and development of new products and major enhancements, serving as the technical lead for PCB and circuit design activities.\nArchitect, design, and validate analog and digital electronic systems for embedded products and smart sensing technologies.\nDrive product development from concept through production, ensuring designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.\nDevelop and execute design verification, validation, and compliance testing for standards such as UL, CSA, CE, EMC, and FM.\nPartner with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to integrate electrical systems into robust, high-quality products.\nDefine production test methodologies and support the development of manufacturing fixtures, validation tools, and test procedures.\nLead technical problem solving, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex product and component issues.\nProvide expert-level support for sustaining engineering activities and product improvement initiatives.\nContribute to project planning, technical risk assessments, schedules, and design reviews.\nMentor and develop junior engineers while fostering engineering excellence and knowledge sharing across the team.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience developing electronic products, with a strong emphasis on hardware and PCB design.\nDeep understanding of the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through product launch and ongoing support.\nStrong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and system integration.\nExperience designing hardware for embedded systems utilizing microcontrollers and microprocessors (ARM, 8-bit, 16-bit, or similar architectures).\nProficiency with Altium Designer for schematic development and PCB layout.\nHands-on experience with laboratory and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental testing tools.\nExperience debugging and prototyping embedded electronic systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate across disciplines.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with sensing technologies such as magnetic, optical, flow measurement, or other sensor-based systems.\nExperience leading technical projects or serving as a technical lead on cross-functional development teams.\nKnowledge of regulatory compliance and product certification processes.\nExperience supporting products in manufacturing and production environments.\nDemonstrated expertise in a specific technology area, product platform, or engineering discipline.\nWhy Badger Meter?\nAt Badger Meter, you'll have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems, influence product strategy, and help create technology that supports smarter water use around the world.
