You'll work across the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, improve customer experiences, and deliver high-quality solutions.\nThis role requires WEEKLY on-site work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship and be able to commence work in the Milwaukee area on their start date.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:\nDesign, develop, test, document, and maintain cloud-based software services and features, from initial implementation through ongoing iteration and support.\nAnalyze problem requirements and research applicable technologies to identify effective solutions.\nDesign and implement a defined component within a larger project, writing maintainable, well-structured software.\nDebug and resolve issues in existing software and systems.\nTake ownership of assigned projects/components, including task and effort estimation, and communicate progress, dependencies, and risks to the team.\nParticipate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to team process improvements.\nParticipate in design and code reviews, and mentor Engineer I staff.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with QA, security, product, and other engineering teams to deliver well-tested solutions.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n3+ years of related software development experience.\nExperience with one or more of: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Java.\nExperience with version control (Git/GitHub).\nExperience with cloud development (AWS preferred).\nExperience with relational and non-relational databases.\nExperience with project management/tracking tools (e.g., Jira).\nKnowledgeable of software development concepts, processes, and tools.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to define problems, identify root causes, and apply appropriate solutions.\nAbility to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively both independently and within a team, with minimal supervision.\nStrong initiative, motivation, and curiosity, with sound judgment and decision-making skills.\nPREFERRED:\nExperience with identity and access management concepts/platforms (e.g., AWS Cognito/IAM, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, Okta, Auth0, Microsoft Entra ID).\nExperience with UI technologies such as React, HTML, CSS.\nExperience with data stores such as Elasticsearch and MySQL.\nExperience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions).\nExperience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation).\nWhy Badger Meter?\nJoin a collaborative team where your work has visible impact-from building new features to solving real-world customer challenges.
