You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow - shaping a safer future, for all of us.\nFrom the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space - there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.\nRole Description:\nReporting to the Algorithms Team Lead, this role is responsible for designing, developing and testing mission critical solutions, in cross-functional teams and with a high level of independence, for delivery into advanced autonomous platforms.\nCore Duties:\nDelivery of high-quality technical input to Integrated Defence and Autonomy Systems (IDAS) projects as requested, including:Develop models and simulations of complex vehicles and systems\nLiaise with customer and supplier stakeholders in support of model development, verification and validation as required\nSupport integration of developed models, algorithms and/or control systems into broader systems as required\nPerform assurance activities for the models and simulations to the required standard (internal process and certification bodies, as required)\nPerform configuration management on developed work products\n\nInput to progress reviews of technology projects as requested\nPeer review of technical artefacts to ensure technology objectives are being achieved\nWork with a high level of independence\nSupport the planning and achievement of intellectual property capture for technology projects\nKEY CRITERIA:\nExperience in developing design using MATLAB/ Simulink is considered advantageous\nExperience conducting Testing & Verification activities is considered desirable\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and with multiple stakeholders is considered mandatory\nExposure to working with Systems is considered desirable\nDefence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance\nTheIDAS Team\nIntegrated Defence and Autonomy Systems (IDAS) delivers advanced autonomous systems, smart munitions, and sustainment solutions across air, land, maritime, and cyber domains. With a focus on rapid innovation and operational readiness, the business is developing disruptive capabilities including the STRIX UAS, ATLAS UGV, RAZER low-cost precision munition, ESSM, and Nulka. It also supports key Defence sustainment programs, ensuring critical systems remain mission-ready.
