You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow - shaping a safer future, for all of us.\nFrom the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space - there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.\nRole Description:\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Delivery Project Engineer to join our JORN program.\nAs the Delivery Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering deliveries across the full Systems Engineering lifecycle, ensuring solutions are delivered safely, securely, on schedule, and in compliance with corporate, regulatory, and contract requirements.\nReporting into the Systems IPT Delivery PEM and working at the intersection of Engineering, project delivery, operations, and customer stakeholders, the role drives technical excellence, manages risks, maintains governance and delivery commitments, and ensures high-quality outcomes with minimal rework. Success in the role requires strong stakeholder engagement, proactive leadership, effective decision-making, and the ability to align multidisciplinary teams to achieve the business objectives.\nThe role also fosters continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, developing team capability, strengthening knowledge sharing, and embedding improvements that enhance future delivery outcomes. It provides broad experience across technical, delivery, and leadership disciplines, making it a stepping stone to future Project Engineering Manager and other Engineering leadership roles.\nCore Duties:\nPlan, coordinate and deliver engineering work packages, ensuring milestones, schedules and capability outcomes are achieved\nDevelop and maintain engineering delivery plans, schedules forecasts and roadmaps across complex programs\nCoordinate delivery activities across multidisciplinary teams, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and key stakeholders\nAct as the primary engineering delivery interface, building strong relationships with customers, contractors and internal teams\nLead delivery governance activities including reviews, audits, certification activities and design approvals\nManage engineering documentation and key artefacts\nIdentify, assess and manage delivery risks, issues and dependencies while driving effective mitigation strategies\nSupport transition planning, operational readiness activities and continuous improvement initiatives\nPrepare and present delivery performance reporting, forecasts, risks and governance updates to support informed decision-making\nDrive collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across engineering delivery teams\nEssential Skills:\nDegree level qualifications in Engineering\nStrong planning, coordination and delivery management experience within engineering or complex project environments\nKnowledge of engineering governance, assurance, configuration management and lifecycle processes\nExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured, risk-based approach to decision-making\nExperience working across multidisciplinary teams to achieve program objectives\nAdaptability, resilience and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development\nDefence security clearance or eligibility to obtain\nEligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations\nTheJORNTeam - Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) and Arctic Over The Horizon Radar\nThe Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) is a connected series of three remote over-the-horizon radars (OTHR) located in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
