This role is suited to an engineer with a strong technical foundation, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a proven ability to take ownership and deliver results in a complex engineering environment.\nReporting to the Full Rate Production (FRP) Engineering Team Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and sustainment of critical defence products. You will apply your engineering expertise to develop practical solutions, resolve technical challenges, and support production and product improvement activities across the ESSM Program.\nCore Duties:\nProvide support to manufacturing engineering and production operations to resolve production issues, material review boards, configuration control board and variances\nDesign changes and technical data package (TDP) maintenance for existing missile systems, sub-assemblies and components\nDesign and sustainment of automated test equipment systems to facilitate automated factory acceptance test (FAT) of missile sub-systems and components\nEngineering developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) and analysis to substantiate design change, including opportunities to take place in trials\nSupport the Quality Assurance function with technical investigation and analysis into material review board (MRB), failure review board (FRB), Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and root cause, containment and corrective actions (RCCA)\nUndertake mechanical system and/ or equipment requirements analysis and participate in requirements reviews\nLiaise with both internal and external stakeholders as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed\nEssential Skills:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic or Aeronautical Engineering\nEngineering accreditation (NER, CPEng) or eligibility to obtain\nDefence security clearance or eligibility to obtain\nDemonstrated experience as a professional engineer\nMissile or weapons system mechanical design experience highly desirable\nExperience working in high-volume or rate-production environments highly desirable\nKnowledge of AS9100 quality standards, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes highly desirable\nEligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations\nTheESSM Team\nThe Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM) is a medium-range, surface-to-air missile developed to protect warships from advanced anti-ship cruise missiles.\nWhy BAE Systems?\nHere you’ll build a career with purpose and limitless possibilities.
