You will work on designing crucial systems for the Dreadnought class submarines, which will replace the Vanguard Class, currently in service with the Royal Navy. This role will give you the opportunity to work on one of the most complexengineering programmes ever undertaken in the country, which will deliver a product of national importance.\nCore duties:\nValidate engineering assumptions, data, analysismethodologies and results through review, surveillance and audit\nProvide evidence and specialist support for qualification, legislative requirements, safety justifications and assurance activities\nIdentify and rapidly resolve issues across the product lifecycle, including managementof resulting change activities\nLiaise with internal customers to understand, support and incorporate agreed requirements\nManageexternal supplier delivery including build, test, change and technical queries.\nProvide day to day technical guidance for early learners in the team\nProvide realistic programme status, identify risks and issues, implement recovery plans, and define qualification obligations for assurance hold points\nSupport design assurance and safety case documentation while complying with Quality, HS&E ManagementSystems, procedures, standards, risk assessments and controlmeasures\nEssential Skills:\nBEng (Hons), MEng or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (HND may be considered)\nRelevant sector experience, with detailed design experience of large-scale Electrical, Electronic, Controland Instrumentation (C&I) systems\nStrongknowledge of Distributed ControlSystems (DCS), instrumentation and engineering design, with practical understanding of the C&I design lifecycle\nAbility to review and assess design, equipment and test documentation, including electrical schematics, schedules and signal databases\nExperience witnessing and assessing supplier testing and reports, with understanding of equipment delivery and acceptance criteria for facility integration\nDemonstrable leadershipand communication skills, with good knowledge of requirements and configuration management\nThe PMS C&I Team:\nThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Dreadnought programme as a Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control and Instrumentation). The PMSC&I Team is responsible for the design, integration, assurance and delivery of Controland Instrumentation systems. The team provides specialist engineering support across the system lifecycle, including requirements definition, detailed design, equipment integration, supplier testing, commissioning and assurance. It ensures that Controland Instrumentation systems operate safely, reliably and efficiently, with appropriate monitoring, control, protection and system interfaces.
