You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow, shaping a safer future, for all of us.\nFrom the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space, there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.\nJob Description:\nAs a Principal Engineer for Software Assurance, you will plan and conduct software assurance activities, including the review of plans and processes, witnessing of testing, and carrying out inspections and audits.\nCore duties:\nWorking with our customer to agree an acceptable approach to risk\nReviewing software plans, documentation and software aspects of system-level plans and documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback\nEngaging with System Designers, Software Developers and other engineering disciplines in the design process to ensure that software meets requirements\nDocumenting the level of risk, provide evidence and reporting for Senior Management\nWorking with a range of stakeholders at all levels to resolve non-conformances and programme risks\nProviding technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to junior team members\nEssential Skills:\nFamiliarity with various software types, including programmable electronics, is beneficial, though in-depth expertisein all areas is not required.\nA stronggrasp of software lifecycle principlesand their application across different software types\nUnderstanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and its relationship to software development\nLogical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to find practical solutions and align stakeholders with the resolution\nExperience in Software Assurance methods and processes, including audit and review\nThe Software Assurance team:\nThis is a growing role within our business and industry with significant potential for development and further growth. We expect the candidateto quickly develop an understanding of the development, use and controlof software in our complexand unique application.
