Working independentlyand collaboratively with a like-minded Product Safety Engineers, you will be critical is underpinning the integrity of cutting-edgetechnology from design concept through to disposal. As a valued stakeholder working alongside Design Technical Authorities, you will play a pivotal role challengingnorm as well of bringing new ideas to table across a varied and ever-changing portfolio of Combat System projects\nCore duties:\nProviding support to the functions Technical Authority teams with the managementof the hazards, risks and associated mitigations and contribute to the development of the hazard log and the maturity of information contained within\nResponsible for product safety strategy/argument assessment against major subsystems or key complextechnologies\nProduction of high-quality submissions including hazard logs, safety cases and safety plans\nOrganising and facilitate HAZIDs and review meetings and contribute to other HAZIDs when required\nWorking with the Technical Authority teams and embedded engineers in collating adequate product safety related evidence to support the safety case argument and acceptance via the Requirements and Acceptance Team\nEssential skills:\nExperience of working in more than one phase of the Engineering Lifecycle, with sufficient experience of design principlesto enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issues\nAwareness of customer defence standards such as: DSA-02, JSP430, Def Stan 00-056, Def-stan 00-055, BS EN 61508, BS EN 62368\nFamiliar with the principlesof a Safety ManagementSystem and the creation of artifacts to support safe products\nExperience in Product Safety within Software Systems would be advantageous\nThe Product Safety team:\nYou’ll be part of a collaborative Product Safety team working closely with Technical Authorities, embedded engineers and the Requirements & Acceptance team to ensure safety is built into complexengineering solutions from design through to acceptance. The team leadshazard identification, risk assessment and safety assurance activities, developing robust safety cases, plans and hazard logs while providing expertguidance across major subsystems and technologies.
