This is an opportunity to lead cutting-edge work in radar, infrared, visual, and RF signature reduction and contribute directly to the UK’s strategic defence capability.\nCore duties:\nLead the development of the Stealth Engineering Department’s Above Water Signatures capability\nCollaborating with cross-functional teams to design stealthy equipment and systems\nDefining technical requirements, test methods, and approval criteria\nProviding above water signature subject matter expertise at key design review stages\nReviewing design documentation to confirm that above water signature requirements are met\nLeading modelling efforts for radar, infrared, visual, and RF signatures using custom and commercial tools\nDeveloping testing methodologies to confirm signature performance\nSupporting full-scale trials during submarine commissioning\nManaging research with internal teams and university partners\nImproving stealth features on in-service submarines\nEssential skills:\nA degree (or equivalent experience) in Maths, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM field.\nExperience with modelling software or programming tools.\nA strong grasp of electromagnetism, radar, or infrared and visual detection technologies.\nThe Stealth Engineering Department:\nJoin a world-class team shaping the next generation of stealth technology for the UK’s submarine fleet.
