You will be working within the Systems Design team, producing the design of the software to ensure it meets customers requirements and standards. You will be working to improve efficiency and quality of the FESS to allow optimal operation. This is a UK based role where you will work closely with the ESS Systems Integration test, Software development, Hardware and Operations teams.\nCore duties:\nAnalysisof Aircraft changes / Customer requirements and converting the requirements into an effective ESS system design\nManagedetailed technical requirements and communications with external suppliers\nCreation and review of System Design documentation used by the wider ESS team and customers\nConfiguration controlof System Design and Software artifacts to ensure that the ESS application builds are correctly configured\nCreation of ESS application builds using software modules delivered by both internal and external software suppliers\nProvide coaching, and technical Guidance to junior members of the team\nEnsure continued familiarity with all current technology / SW products / processes used within the team\nUpdate and Maintain Jira Tasks in order to managetime effectively and maintain tight programme timescales\nEssential Skills:\nDegree / HNC / HND in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience\nExtensive engineering background and knowledge of the software development lifecycle\nExperience of Windows operating systems environments, test processes, database technologies and s/w development knowledge\nExperience of Requirements Managementand Traceability with an understanding of use cases\nExperience of system and software application design and architecture principles\nThe ESS System Design Team:\nThe ESS System Design Team sits within Ground and Training Products in the Fast Jet Support organisation and is responsible for designing and supporting the Engineering Support System (ESS) for the Typhoon aircraft.\nThe ESS is a mission-critical maintenance managementtool that enables the safe, effective operation of Typhoon and the team plays a key role in delivering future engineering support through the Typhoon FESS programme.\nThis is a highly collaborative team working on a system that directly impacts front-line aircraft availability and performance.\nWhy BAE Systems?\nHere you’ll build a career with purpose and limitless possibilities.
