You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow - shaping a safer future, for all of us.\nRole Description\nThe Typhoon ActiveRig (ACR) Cockpit is a Business Critical capability that supports BAE’s Cockpit system design responsibility (SDR) and Typhoon Business Development. Current tasks being worked on include Striker II, P4E, NDP2, LTE - all Contract or IEP funded and future work anticipated to continue until Typhoon out-of-service date. This position is required to retain the balance of required knowledge and experience in the team as well as sustaining the required capacity within the department.\nCore Duties\nDevelopment of c/c++ code in producing cockpit HMI concepts / prototypes into the ACR.\nHave responsibility for of given tasks, liaising with the internal customer to understand requirements / concepts and to demonstrate implementation through to completion.\nManagingwork through configuration control(committing / branching / merging)\nEstimating development activities, including progress reporting\nMentoring of early careers team members and code reviews\nContinuous development / refinement of current development processes and technology\nEssential skills\nDegree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience\nC/C++ experience working on complexlarge scale projects (preferably engineering projects)\nPrototyping / Concept development experience, particularly in a Human Machine Interface (HMI) environment\nKnowledge of developing in a Windows environment (Visual C++)\nExcellent code navigation / debugging / ‘figuring it out’ skills\nSignificant experience of using configuration controltoolsets\nThe TyphoonActive Cockpit Rig (ACR) Team\nJoin the team behind the Typhoon ActiveCockpit Rig (ACR), a sophisticated simulation environment used to bring cockpit designs to life before they reach the aircraft. You’ll contribute to the development of immersive pilot training and assessment capabilities, creating software that models every aspect of the pilot experience, from cockpit interfaces and displays to complextactical battlespace environments.
