Location: Barrow (Cumbria). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - however for this role you will be expected to attend your site up to 3-5 days per week.
Salary: £25,900 (pro-rata)

Role description
As an Summer Intern Systems Engineer, you will help design complex products by understanding what the customer wants and needs, and how to find the best solution to any problem. You will spend time communicating with people involved in complex projects, alongside balancing the needs of different stakeholders. You will need to think and work in a logical way whilst balancing competing priorities and perspectives to achieve effective, practical outcomes.
Core duties
- Support the capture, definition, analysis, and management of system requirements across the lifecycle.
- Support system design, analysis, optimisation, integration, and testing activities.
- Develop virtual models of systems and subsystems to enable modelling and simulation activities.
- Use appropriate tools and software (for example Enterprise Architect, MATLAB, Simulink, JIRA) to support activities at different stages of the system lifecycle.
- Support system validation and verification activities, ensuring the right system is built and built in the right way.

Qualification requirements
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Maths or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) degree.
